Training in Tumor Cell Biology: Carcinogenesis Training Program
The goal of the Carcinogenesis Training Program is to provide comprehensive predoctoral research training in cancer biology. The program serves as a focus for interdisciplinary interactions among students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty in tumor biology with special strength in Signal Transduction, Adhesion, Motility and Angiogenesis, Viral Carcinogenesis, Tumor Therapy, Translational Studies, Chemoprevention and a growing program in Cancer Genetics. Candidates for funding from this program come from a robust pool of graduate students matriculating into integrated, rather than departmental, Ph.D. programs. The core preceptor group represents 15 Northwestern University departments and divisions, reflecting the breadth of training opportunities. Graduates of the program are going on to outstanding postdoctoral positions, and the majority ultimate obtaining positions in cancer research in academia or the commercial sector. |
