Career development investigators (CDA) are selected after careful review of their credentials and potential to develop an independent career in prostate cancer research. Dr. Lee assigns each CDA investigator a primary mentor, with whom the CDA meets monthly, and a secondary mentor who meets with the CDA quarterly. Special efforts have been made to emphasize the recruitment of women and minorities to the SPORE Career Development Program. CDA investigators who are making significant progress after the first year are eligible for additional years of funding. The specific aims of the Program are:
